Calls from Heavily-Accented IRS ‘Agents’ are a Scam, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police issued a fraud alert Friday for an ongoing phone scam they say is being perpetrated by heavily-accented people claiming to be IRS “agents.”

In a news release, police said residents of Four Seasons–an over-55 community on Skibo Road–are among those who have recently received the calls claiming money is owed to the government.

“‘Agents’ will threaten to take driving privileges, vehicles and homes,” police said. “Police would like residents to be aware that this is a scam and not to respond or send any money to the ‘agents.'”

Residents with questions can call township police at 610-317-6110.
