On Saturday, Feb. 25, Saucon Valley High School freshman Talitha Diggs had success competing in the Pennsylvania State Indoor Track and Field Meet at Penn State University.
School district athletic director Bob Frey reported that Talitha placed third in the 200 meter run with a time of 24.67 seconds, setting a new school record previously held by Tina Quier 26.3 (1983) in the process.
In addition to her school record 200 meter time, Talitha finished 10th in the 400 meter run with a time of 57.56 seconds, Frey said, adding that she is currently ranked among the top 5 high school freshmen in the country in the 60, 200, 300, 400 and 600 meter runs and the long jump.
Diggs is the daughter of retired U.S. track and field champion and four-time Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs.
