St. Theresa School eighth grader Taylor Teles crowns the Virgin Mary statue at the church in Hellertown.

St. Theresa School students participated in their annual May Crowning Procession Friday.

Students from Pre-K 4 through eighth grade participated in the May Crowning procession that followed an 8:45 a.m. mass.

Eighth grader Taylor Teles crowned a statue of the Virgin Mary, and the graduating eighth grade class and new second grade Holy Communion recipients placed flowers in a vase that was presented to Mary.

St. Theresa School in Hellertown is celebrating its 76th year of providing a Catholic-centered education for Pre-K 3 through eighth grade, consistent with the educational mission of the Church. The school emphasizes basic skills with a blend of traditional and current creative teaching methods and the use of current technology. A caring faculty, supportive parents and parishioners foster the spiritual, intellectual and emotional growth of the whole child.
