Elva M. Amelio, 82, of Hellertown (Obituary Brought to You by Heintzelman Funeral Home)

Elva M. Amelio, 82, of Hellertown, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of the late Arthur R. Amelio Sr., who died on Dec. 5, 2000. She was born in Bridgeport on Aug. 1, 1935 to the late Antonio and Congetta (Capaldo) Garganta. Elva was a cafeteria worker for the Saucon Valley School District for 13 years until retiring in 1998. She was a faithful member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown.

Loving children: Arthur R. Amelio Jr. (Renee M.) of Palmyra, Joseph M. Amelio (Brenda J.), Annette M. (Kirk R.) Beers of Hellertown; siblings: Marie Facinelli of Bethlehem Township, Sister Francine Garganta, OSF, of Bethlehem, Congetta Pereira of Hellertown, Gloria Jean Garganta of Bethlehem, Albert “Moe” Garganta of Hellertown; grandchildren: Joshua, Olivia, Jacob, Courtney, Blaise.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour Friday will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa’s RC Church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown.
