A traffic stop last summer turned into a foot chase and ended with an arrest for Lower Saucon Township Police, the department said Friday, after a Bethlehem man allegedly refused to comply with officers’ orders.

Jeffrey Paul Sysak

In a post published on their Crimewatch site, police said Jeffrey Paul Sysak, 48, was stopped July 16 on Seidersville Road in the area of the Lehigh County line for allegedly not displaying an inspection sticker.

“Upon speaking with Mr. Sysak it was learned that he did not have a valid operator’s license and there was an outstanding warrant from Lehigh County Probation,” police said.

At that time Sysak allegedly fled on foot, “and after a foot chase Sysak stopped but refused to comply with police direction,” police said, noting that he was eventually taken into custody and then taken to St. Luke’s  University Hospital for treatment and further processing for “suspected DUI.”

Sysak is currently wanted on a warrant for the following charges, police said:

Anyone with information about Sysak or his whereabouts is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Township Police Department at 610-317-6110 or to submit an anonymous tip through their Crimewatch page.
