A man’s tryst with a prostitute at an Upper Saucon Township motel ended with him being beaten and robbed of his phone, wallet and vehicle, by the alleged service provider and her male companion, according to authorities.
WFMZ Channel 69 News reported Friday that the man allegedly met Janqunela D. Allen, 34, of Allentown, at the Knights Inn at 4942 Rt. 309, Center Valley, for sex early Thursday, and that the meetup went awry when he tried to pay for the services that were rendered using the money transfer service Venmo, only to find out Allen used PayPal.
After the man had iPhone trouble and unsuccessfully searched for an ATM at the motel, authorities say Ashley Etienne, 28, of Allentown, showed up at the room and with Allen beat him before stealing his belongings, the news station reported.
According to court records, both Allen and Etienne are charged with felony counts of conspiracy, robbery, theft and receiving stolen property and are incarcerated in the Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $75,000 straight bail each. A preliminary hearing in their case before District Judge Michael D’Amore is scheduled for June 21, records indicate.
