Lower Saucon Township Police reminded residents Thursday that dumping trash or other items on public or private property without permission to do so is a crime.
In a post on their Crimewatch page, police said a 27-year-old Freemansburg man was cited Wednesday after he was allegedly caught dumping tree stumps over an embankment in the 2200 block of Riverside Drive at around 3 p.m.
Police said an officer was approaching the area in his vehicle when he saw Samuel Peter Caserta allegedly “throwing items over the guard rail.”
“When (Caserta) observed the patrol unit he quickly jumped in the driver seat” of his vehicle, police said. “Police approached the vehicle and there were tree stumps filling the bed and upon looking over the guard rail there were also tree stumps over the embankment.”
Police said Caserta was cited for scattering rubbish, which is a summary offense.
