Gerald Anthony Beaky (1938 – 2024)

Gerald Anthony Beaky, 86, a resident at Sacred Heart Senior Living in Center Valley, Pa., passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2024. Jerry was born to Charles Basil Beaky and Pauline (Gasper) Beaky in Emmaus, Pa., on April 19, 1938. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia (McHale) Beaky, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Allentown, Pa., in 1956. Jerry dedicated his entire career to Exide Corp. (formerly the Electric Storage Battery Company/ESB), working his way up from third shift to regional plant manager before retiring in 2000. He loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing cards and telling stories. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his ready laugh and his dedication to his wife and family.

SURVIVORS

He is survived by his five children: Mark Beaky of York, Pa.; Monica Beaky of Bethlehem, Pa.; Michael Beaky of Wyomissing, Pa.; Melinda Beaky of Hellertown, Pa.; and Matthew Beaky and his wife Suzanne, of Huntingdon, Pa. His grandchildren include Lael Anthony MacLellan, Andrew Pfeiffer, Dana Pfeiffer, Tess Wenger, Zane Beaky and Jasper Beaky. Granddaughter Elena Wenger preceded him in death. He is survived by brothers Thomas Beaky of Emmaus, Pa., and James Beaky of Auburn, Calif. He was predeceased by brothers Charles and Anthony Beaky.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to call from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2024 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, PA 18055. The visitation period will be followed by the service at 6 p.m. A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans immediately following the service.
