Roberta J. Barrell (1942 – 2025)

Roberta J. Barrell, 82, formerly of Hellertown, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 at VNA Hospice House at St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of the late Carl E. Barrell, who died May 22, 1997. Roberta was born in Bethlehem on Nov. 23, 1942 to the late John and Pearl (Pysher) Ohmacht. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, and at Saucon Valley Manor and Zawick Manufacturing, both of Hellertown, as a seamstress. Roberta was a member of Lower Saucon United Church of Christ, Hellertown.

SURVIVORS

Roberta is survived by her children: Joseph P. (Beth) Barrell of Hellertown; Carlene E. Barrell of Williams Township; and a sister: Valerie Mazeo in New Jersey; grandchildren: Carl, William, Emma Barrell, Samantha Barrell, Alexis Doddy and Whitney Anderson.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2025 at Lower Saucon UCC, 1375 Third Ave., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans immediately following the graveside service.
