Show Your ‘SV Pride’ With Red and Black Bows

Est. Read Time: 2 mins

Saucon Valley football players Nate Harka, Trey Polak, Christian Carvis, Cody Zrinski, Ryan Meyers, Mike Kane and Steven Good hold the bows that are being sold as a fundraiser for both the Hellertown Historical Society and Saucon Valley Athletic Association, and to help boost community spirit before Saturday’s PIAA AAA semifinal football game in which the Saucon Valley Panthers will play Imhotep Charter in Bethlehem.

Do you think Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township residents, businesses and officials need to do a better job of showing their Saucon Valley Pride and support for the Panther football team? Would you like to see Main Street in the borough awash in a sea of red and black (Saucon Valley’s colors)?

If you are of that opinion–or simply want to support a fundraising effort on behalf of two local nonprofit organizations–be aware that large red and black bows are being sold by Pondelek’s Florist & Gifts, 1310 Main St., in Hellertown.

The shop will begin selling “SV Pride Ribbons” for $7 each at noon on Monday, Dec. 7.

Proceeds from the sale of the big bows–which come with wire for easy hanging–will benefit both the Hellertown Historical Society and the Saucon Valley Athletic Association.

Payment should be made by cash or check only.

Parking is available behind Pondelek’s and on the street. The store is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

If anyone is unable to stop in the store during those hours they should email

or message Hellertown Historical Society on their Facebook page for other arrangements.
