An Ottsville, Bucks County man is charged with three counts of assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after police say he fought with two women and hit a small child on the side of the head at The Meadows banquet hall, 1770 Meadows Road, on the evening of Feb. 13.

In a news release issued Wednesday, police said Darrin Sanderson, of the 4000 block of Durham Road, was standing next to a car in the facility’s parking lot when officers arrived in response to reports “of a fight with injuries and possible knife used” and witnesses began pointing him out.

Officers found a 25-year-old woman who was bleeding from the head after allegedly being struck in the head by a glass candle holder thrown at her by Sanderson, police said.

Another 25-year-old woman had allegedly been pulled to the ground by her hair by Sanderson.

Police said he threatened to hit that woman while she was holding her five-year-old son and “at one point during the evening…had also slapped the 5-year-old boy on the side of the head.”

The woman who was hit in the head with the glass candle holder was treated for her injuries and later released from St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, police said.

Sanderson was also taken to the hospital after he complained of stomach pains “he believes was a result of getting hit by others as they attempted to remove him from the facility and protect the women,” police said.

“Witnesses stated that as other guests at the facility asked Sanderson to leave he actually started fighting with them,” they added.
