Why Women Don’t Need to Exercise Differently Than Men

In a world where information is literally at our fingertips, we often find ourselves following misinformation that is put together with a good presentation and some attractive models. Almost every ad or fitness article in your favorite magazine tells us there are substantial differences in the way men and women should work out. We see well-built men doing heavy, complex movements, and thin muscular women doing yoga or running. It is ads and misinformation like this that enhance the delusion that the best way to look the way you want is with light weight and lots of repetitions. These misconceptions force us to believe that women should not lift heavy weights and should do mostly cardiovascular training to prevent a “bulky” or “manly” body type.

Man Followed Female Shoppers With Camera, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police are hoping to identify a man they say followed women and either took their photographs or filmed them while they shopped in the Giant supermarket at 1880 Leithsville Road Thursday at around 7:30 p.m.

The man was eventually escorted out of the store by a Giant employee, and then left in black car of unknown make/model, police said. Before that, he was captured on store surveillance footage, and police said they would like to speak to him about the incident. In still photos of the footage, the man is seen wearing a black baseball cap, khaki pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt. He has shoulder-length dark brown or black hair and a goatee. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.
