Lions’ Gem & Mineral Show to Offer Something for Everyone

Est. Read Time: 2 mins

The Saucon Valley Lions’ annual Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show in Hellertown helps raise money for charities and other initiatives the Lions support, like scholarships for local students.

The Saucon Valley Lions’ 46th annual Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10 at the Saucon Valley High School gymnasium, and once again the show promises something for everyone to enjoy.

“We have so many vendors this year, old and new,” chairwoman Amy Musser said.

Along with vendors selling minerals, gems and fossils, there will be booths featuring handmade jewelry and supplies, wire wrapping, as well as Silpada and Lilla Rose.

Hellertown’s own Lost River Caverns will be one of the vendors.

The Lucky Dutchman will allow kids to “pan” for their own gems, and Henry’s Gems (a bench jeweler) will fix, re-size, set stones and polish anything brought or bought.

There will be food and a bake sale as well as Dolce Patisserie, a fine chocolatier from Hellertown.

On Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. there will be a Miller-Keystone blood drive on-site, with free admission to the show for donors, who can either drop in or register in advance online. (The Lions’ sponsor code is 1496. On the Miller-Keystone website you can create a donor profile and schedule an appointment. On the day of their donation, donors can go online and answer screening questions to save time.)

Also on Saturday, special guest Robin Divine will appear at the show to share her inspirational story about going from homeless to happiness. She will be signing and selling her book, Road Trip To Freedom.

Admission to the show is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for students and seniors, and free for children under 8. A coupon available at many local businesses (and below) can be used for 50 cents off admission.

Times of the show are: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hourly door prizes will be drawn using the ticket attendees are given upon entering the show.

You can find this event on the Lion’s Club page at: www.sauconvalleylions.org and on Facebook.

Proceeds from the Gem Show help the Saucon Valley Lions Club with providing donations to the Blind Foundation, local families in need and with awarding scholarships to Saucon Valley students.
