Est. Read Time: < 1 min

Note: The following is an announcement from the Hellertown Borough Authority. The authority has also announced that it will also conduct a one-day flush around the Saucon Valley School District campus on Tuesday, April 19, starting in the late afternoon after children have been dismissed for the day. For that flushing residents in the southern end of Hellertown may experience discolored water in the later afternoon.

The system-wide flushing of the Hellertown Borough Authority’s water system is scheduled to begin soon.

The Authority will flush fire hydrants throughout the Borough of Hellertown starting Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29 and the following week starting Monday, May 2 through Friday, May 6 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Customers should expect to experience some discoloration or cloudiness in their water as the system is flushed, but once the flushing is completed each day, the water will quickly clear. Customers should refrain from washing clothes or other laundry items during the work and minimize water usage to prevent sediment from being drawn into their facilities.

Customers whose phone numbers are on file with the authority will be contacted in advance by the automated phone notification system at the beginning of each week.

Questions may be directed to the authority at 610-838-8051 or in person at 501 Durham St., Hellertown, Pa.
