Lower Saucon Township Police say they were able to nab an alleged air conditioner and Snapple thief after she returned to the store from which the two units were stolen late last week.

According to a news release issued Wednesday, Lillian Hernandez Santiago, of the 200 block of Crest Avenue, Bethlehem, was identifed by alert Giant employees while she was inside the supermarket at 1880 Leithsville Road Monday morning.

Santiago was detained “as she was leaving the parking lot,” police said, and was later charged with retail theft.

After being arraigned before District Judge David Tidd she was released on $15,000 unsecured bail, the news release indicated.

The two RCA room-size air conditioners Santiago allegedly stole–which together are valued at approximately $310–were handed over to officers who returned them to the Giant, police said.

Lower Saucon Township Police released this surveillance image of a woman they say stole two air conditioners and a 12-pack of Snapple iced tea from the Giant Food Store on Leithsville Road. The woman was later identified as Bethlehem resident Lillian Hernandez Santiago, who has been charged with retail theft, police said.
