Donald C. Durn, 93, of Bethlehem, formerly of Hellertown, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He was the husband of the late Arlene M. (Kichline) Durn (died May 21, 1996). Donald was born in Bethlehem on July 25, 1923 to the late Charles D.H. and Stella (Frey) Durn. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II. Donald was a postal worker in Bethlehem for 33 years until retiring. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. He enjoyed playing on the City and Suburban Dart Baseball League; he was a member of the MORA Club and the Heights AA; and he volunteered delivering with his late wife for Meals on Wheels.
SURVIVORS
Children: Richard D. (Sandra J.) of Bethlehem, Robert D. (Anna) of Henderson, Nev., Darlene A. (William R.) Marsten of Bethlehem Township, nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter: Janice L. Walters; and sisters: Shirley D. Stefanik and Claire Hartman.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2020 Worthington Ave., Bethlehem. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment with military honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
