You might only know Farmers Insurance from their catchy “We Are Farmers” television commercial jingle, but agent Brandon Wimbish hopes you’ll soon get to know much more about the company.
Wimbish is the owner of the newly-opened Farmers Insurance Wimbish Agency at 1222 Main St., Hellertown. The office is in a first floor storefront that has been completely remodeled and formerly housed Valpak.
A St. Louis native, Wimbish moved to the Lehigh Valley six years ago and now lives in Upper Macungie Township.
He said one reason Hellertown was appealing as a location for his new business is his wife’s connection to the community. She is a Saucon Valley native.
The fact that the borough is a small, family-oriented, walkable community was also a draw, he said.
Wimbish said he was attracted to the insurance field because he enjoys helping people and making sure they have the coverage they need to protect themselves and their families.
“At the end of the day, the most important part (of the job) is making sure people are covered when they need it,” he said, adding that “our biggest thing is making sure you know what your coverages are.”
“Education goes a long way,” he pointed out.
Farmers Insurance Wimbish Agency offers a variety of home, automotive, life, business and other insurance products. Quote requests can be made online.
The office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
Wimbish said he is planning to join the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce and will host a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening of his business in the spring.
Wimbish is also currently seeking to hire a sales producer (a property and casualty license is required). Click here to read the full job description.
