Saucon Valley HS Ranked Among Top PA High Schools

U.S. News & World Report has released its 2018 edition of the U.S.’s Best High Schools, and among Pennsylvania high schools Saucon Valley is ranked one of the best.

Saucon Valley earned a bronze award from the publication this year for being a high-performing school based on state exam performance, and is ranked 151st out of 677 high schools in the state. That ranking puts it in the top 25 percent of PA high schools.

It is among 162 PA high schools that earned gold, silver or bronze awards.

In the Lehigh Valley, only three other high schools are 2018 U.S. News Best High Schools award recipients:

The top high school in the state is Downingtown STEM Academy in the Downingtown Area School District in Chester County.

The majority of the schools in the Top 25 on the list are located in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.

Saucon Valley High School has a total enrollment of 737 students, 60 full-time teachers and a teacher-to-student ratio of 12:1, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Proficiency in math among Saucon Valley students is 88 percent on school exams, 88 percent on district exams and 70 percent on state exams, the magazine reported.

Proficiency in reading among Saucon Valley students is 90 percent on school exams, 90 percent on district exams and 70 percent on state exams.
