Judge: Wolf’s COVID-19 Business Closures, Gathering Limits Unconstitutional

U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV found that Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration’s policy limiting indoor and outdoor gatherings and events to 25 and 250 people, respectively, violates ‘the right of assembly enshrined in the First Amendment.’ Stickman also found Wolf and Health Secretary Rachel Levine’s stay-at-home and business closure orders to be unconstitutional.

After Waffling, Wolf Says He Can’t Extend State’s Eviction Ban

On Tuesday, Gov. Tom Wolf dashed any hope of a last-minute reprieve for the thousands of Pennsylvanians who have fallen behind on rent during the coronavirus pandemic and reiterated that he does not have the legal authority to extend the state’s temporary ban on evictions, which expired today.
