The school bus stop at Bingen Road and Hillside Drive in Lower Saucon Township was the scene of a reported suspicious incident Wednesday.

A Lower Saucon Township resident has reported a suspicious incident involving a slow-moving vehicle near a school bus stop to township police and Saucon Source.
The resident said the incident involving her daughter occurred at her daughter’s bus stop at Bingen Road and Hillside Drive early Wednesday morning.
“She went down to catch the bus at 6:50 a.m. as normal. The bus arrives around 7:05 a.m.,” the resident explained.
When her daughter went to the roadside bus stop, she saw “a peculiar man driving incredibly slow down Bingen Road,” according to the resident, who said the man then proceeded “to circle the bus stop area on Hillside Drive approximately three times” before her daughter “became uncomfortable.”
At that point the girl ran back to her house and notified family members.
Her grandmother then came out of the house and stood on the porch with the girl, while waiting for other children to arrive at the bus stop.
“My mother than saw the truck again going around 5 mph, slowly creeping down Bingen Road a fourth time,” the resident said.
As it was still somewhat dark out at the time, the vehicle was difficult to identify, but it is believed to have been a small red truck–possibly a Toyota or Nissan–with a white or silver tool box attached to its bed.
Lower Saucon Township Police said in a Crimewatch post Thursday that the truck was dirty–with large “dirt spots” on its side–and being driven by an “older white male with gray hair.”
The resident said she contacted Saucon Source because she wanted other parents in the area to be aware of this incident.
