A Hellertown borough man is charged with DUI at the highest rate of intoxication after borough police say he was allegedly determined to have a blood alcohol percentage of .27 percent following an accident at Hess Avenue and Clauser Street March 15.
In a news release Monday police said Keith A. Zerby Jr., 37, was the subject of a traffic stop that was being attempted by an officer when he allegedly crashed into a parked car on the left side of the roadway at 8:44 p.m.
“Fortunately, no injuries resulted from the crash,” police said.
Police added that Zerby is also facing summary traffic violations, an open container charge and a DUI-general impairment charge.
The legal limit for drivers in Pennsylvania is at most .08 percent BAC.
