A well-known internet service provider (ISP) is offering Upper Saucon Township residents another option when it comes to powering online technology in their homes and businesses.

Philadelphia-based Comcast announced in a news release Tuesday that it has connected the first 1,000 accounts in the township to its high-speed Internet network “as part of an expansion that will ultimately reach more than 7,000 homes and businesses in the township.”

“The network expansion brings Internet, mobile, entertainment and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business to these residents and businesses, enhancing digital infrastructure, promoting economic growth and positioning residents and local businesses for success in an increasingly digital world,” the release said.

Comcast said it expects to complete its expansion into Upper Saucon Township–which follows a 2023 expansion into neighboring Coopersburg borough–by the spring.

Including its latest expansion in southern Lehigh County, Comcast said it has connected an additional 232,000 homes and businesses in Pennsylvania to Xfinity and Comcast Business services over the past three years.

“We are committed to investing in and expanding our network to ensure that more residents and businesses in Pennsylvania have a choice in their Internet provider,” said Dan Bonelli, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Freedom Region, which serves Southeastern Pennsylvania. “Our network delivers a world-class experience within and outside the home, and our dedicated team of local experts are excited to help connect Upper Saucon residents to what matters most.”

Upper Saucon residents can visit Xfinity.com/mytown and enter their addresses to check for current service availability or for additional information on construction timing, or visit the Xfinity Store at 235 N. West End Blvd., Quakertown, to see if they are eligible for service today.
