Originally expected to open last year, the eatery will be the latest location in the chain, which has more than 30 stores nationwide. Many of the locations are along the East Coast, where the Center Valley store will be Mason’s first in Pennsylvania.

“As a life-long resident of Allentown, I’m excited to introduce Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls to the tight knit Lehigh Valley community,” franchisee Rich Rudolph said in a news release. “My son and I look forward to bringing a taste of Maine to the heart of Pennsylvania and becoming a part of the local dining scene. We know lobster aficionados and novices alike are going to love it.”

According to the release, Rudolph first visited the Mason’s restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, Del., in 2019, and fell in love with the food and the fast-casual concept.

“A local business owner since his early twenties, Rudolph brings decades of experience to the venture,” it said, adding that the Promenade location is co-owned with his son, Richard Rudolph.

Founded in 2014, Mason’s Lobster Rolls offers customers a menu that features the iconic sandwich available in Classic Maine and Connecticut styles, along with other freshly-prepared fare such as New England clam chowder, lobster bisque, crab rolls and lobster mac & cheese. A kids menu, beverages and desserts are also available.

Wednesday’s grand opening will be at 11 a.m. at 2845 Center Valley Parkway, Suite 608, Center Valley. As part of a celebration, guests will be able to enter a drawing to win free lobster rolls (one per week) for a year or one of 20 branded YETI tumblers through Saturday, Feb. 15. Guests who mention “I love lobster” at checkout in store will also receive a free side or fountain drink with the purchase of a lobster roll through Tuesday, Jan. 21.

The new Mason’s location will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information and to view the menu, visit MasonsLobster.com.
