Pennsylvania State Police at Bethlehem said Wednesday that a planned sobriety checkpoint they announced last week was held from 10 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday, and resulted in three motorists’ arrest for DUI as well as the issuance of four traffic citations.

In a news release, police said the checkpoint was set up along Race Street in the area of Cascade Drive in Hanover Township, Lehigh County. That’s along the north side of the Lehigh Valley International Airport property, about a half mile west of the intersection of Airport and Schoenersville roads.
Police said contact was made with a total of 165 motorists during the five-hour checkpoint, whose purpose was to help maintain a safe environment for the motoring public.
