Borough Issues Snow Removal Reminders

With the possibility of a weekend snowstorm on the horizon (and forecasters wobbling back and forth between several different potential scenarios), local officials snow removal reminders for residents and property owners at Hellertown Borough Council’s meeting Tuesday night.

Council vice president Phil Weber–who presided over the meeting–reminded residents to shovel snow from around fire hydrants, so they remain accessible in the event of an emergency. And public works director Tom Henshaw asked residents who have off-street parking to use it if possible, to help facilitate snow-plowing.

In the event of a snow emergency declaration, cars have to be removed from the following Hellertown streets, which are designated snow emergency routes:

Borough zoning and codes enforcement officer Kris Russo also reminded property owners that they have 24 hours following an accumulating snowfall to shovel their sidewalks.
