Fountain Hill Borough Council’s meeting Jan. 18 was a tale of decisions already made as well as some things still to come.
In addition to February hours for borough residents, Hellertown borough officials Wednesday announced that compost center ID cards will be sold to Lower Saucon Township residents who wish to continue using the facility beginning March 1.
Many residents may not be aware that Fountain Hill borough has a soliciting ordinance that requires most individuals conducting door-to-door sales to first obtain a license.
Although the 2023 Hellertown borough budget holds the line on property taxes, borough property owners can expect to pay more in sanitation and recycling fees next year.
In an automated phone call that went out via the borough’s all-call system Saturday, Coopersburg officials reminded residents about parking restrictions for Sunday’s annual Halloween Parade, but also shared several other important seasonal announcements.
It’s been a few years since a Community Day event was held in Hellertown, and while some things have changed, the sense of community for which the borough is known hasn’t. Organizers of this year’s Community Day, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Dimmick Park, aim to have that pride of place on full display.
UPDATE: After being closed three days in a row, the Hellertown Pool reopened Tuesday with a modified swimming schedule in place. Season pass holders and others were upset by the daily closures in the midst of a heat wave, with many turning to social media to voice their frustration.
Although the intersection in which they’re located is only a couple blocks from Fountain Hill Elementary School, old school zone signs along Broadway in Fountain Hill borough have to be removed because they are no longer needed, according to state law.
If you live in Coopersburg borough, you might see some water that doesn’t look quite like it normally does when you’re washing dishes or running a bath in the coming days.
A division between the Borough of Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township that began over differences in funding for the Hellertown Area Library seemingly grew deeper following the decision by borough council earlier this month to end several intermunicipal agreements with the township at the end of this year.
