Saucon FBLA Members Run Alex’s Lemonade Stand at Farmers’ Market

Est. Read Time: 2 mins

Kiran Pandey, left, and Jonah Beers are members of the Saucon Valley High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter. FBLA members are operating an Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Saucon Valley Farmers’ Market through late August to help raise money for the fight against pediatric cancer.

Amid the produce and food vendors at Saucon Valley Farmers’ Market is a modest booth with a single item available: cold, refreshing lemonade. And to receive a glass all you have to do is donate any amount of money to a great cause.

The booth is an Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation initiative–which raises money to benefit pediatric cancer research in memory of Alex Scott–and is a project of the Saucon Valley High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter.

The Saucon FBLA chaper has had a booth at the market in prior years, and donates the proceeds to the foundation.

FBLA president Kelsey Gatchel said last year the stand at the market raised $1,006, “so this year our goal is to beat last year’s total.”

The FBLA will be providing glasses of refreshing lemonade to donors through Sunday, Aug. 21. A donation jar is located on the table at the stand.

The market is located in Water Street Park, Hellertown, and is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from May through November.
