Thursday morning’s commute could be a little slippery.

That’s because an Alberta clipper system moving across the area could deposit 1 or 2 inches of snow on the Saucon Valley Wednesday night and Thursday morning, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

The snow is most likely to all after 11 p.m. and continue into Thursday morning.

In a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued for the area, the NWS said the snow could contribute to “hazardous travel conditions.”

Heavier amounts of snow are expected to fall in western parts of the state.

“While this clipper system does not have a lot of precipitation to go along with it, (low) temperatures will help produce higher snow totals,” lead forecaster Chris Corrigan wrote in a discussion on PA Weather Action. “Instead of a typical 10:1 snow ratio, this will be more in the 15-20:1 ratio range. This will be a light, fluffy snow. Whatever snow falls, will pile up quick.”

The storm would be the second to bring wintry weather to the Saucon Valley in the last five days.
