Tuesday night’s predicted ice storm never materialized, but lovers of snow and ice need not fret. Yet another winter storm has set its sights on Pennsylvania, with the next round of winter weather forecast to begin late Wednesday night and continue into Friday.
After a fairly tranquil dual holiday weekend, the weather later in the day Monday was forecast to turn troublesome.
If you’re tired of snow, the latest weather forecast will hold no joy for you. That’s because it predicts another round of the white stuff, which if it materializes will become the third accumulating snowfall in the area within the last week.
Although nearly as much snow fell earlier this week as normally falls during an entire winter season, weather forecasters say more is headed to the Lehigh Valley.
As far as Januarys go, the weather this month has been remarkable only for its uneventfulness. Temperatures have been above average, and dry days have been the norm for the past several weeks. That may change in the next few days, however.
In spite of last week’s early snowstorm, it appears unlikely that the Saucon Valley area will get to experience a white Christmas in 2020. But it might see a muddy brown one.

With less than 48 hours until a snowstorm is expected to begin, forecasters are urging residents of eastern Pennsylvania to prepare for potentially record-breaking accumulation and possibly significant disruptions to work, school and other activities.
It’s been a number of years since the Lehigh Valley has had snow before Christmas, much less a “white Christmas.” That could change this year, however, especially if a winter storm weather forecasters are closely monitoring develops as they believe it could.
