The Hellertown area is on track to get another Dunkin’ Donuts, after the Bethlehem Planning Commission Thursday conditionally approved plans by RK Commercial Real Estate to construct a 4,000 square-foot building consisting of a 2,000 square-foot Dunkin’ Donuts with a drive-thru, and a second, as yet undetermined restaurant of the same size at 920 Hellertown Road in the city, Channel 69 News reported.
Hellertown Road is the name of Rt. 412 in the city between the I-78 interchange and the road’s intersection with Shimersville Road.
That stretch of the state highway was recently widened and is heavily traveled, as it connects the interchange with the Sands casino complex.
Channel 69 News reported that project engineer Kevin Horvath of Keystone Engineering told planners the drive-thru will only be used by the Dunkin’ Donuts, in order to ensure safe traffic flow at the site.
Other nearby Dunkin’ Donuts stores are located at 730 Main St., Hellertown; 3655 Rt. 378, Bethlehem; 213 W. Fourth St., Bethlehem; and 1910 Stefko Blvd., Bethlehem.
