Authorities say a Lower Milford Township man allegedly broke into a home in the 1600 block of Riegel Street in Hellertown borough Sunday morning; stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, .22 caliber ammunition and possibly a handgun that were stored in a second-floor lockbox; and then fled the scene in a silver Hyundai SUV, allegedly threatening a borough police officer who later called him to discuss what had allegedly happened, Channel 69 News reported Monday.
