The atmosphere was festive and obviously insect-free at a Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting held Thursday at Quest Termite & Pest’s new location at 1319 Main Street in Hellertown.
Founded in 2002, Quest Pest was located on Rt. 378 in Lower Saucon Township until owners Chris and Kendra Snyder purchased and renovated the property that is now the company’s spacious new home.
Formerly a law office and then the headquarters for a local church, the interior of the building has been updated throughout and painted with the same blue and orange accents that are found in the Quest Pest logo.
“You both have proven to be invested members of the community,” chamber chair Ricky Gower told the Snyders. “We’re thrilled to have you here on Main Street in Hellertown.”
Mayor David Heintzelman joked that although “Hellertown has been known for having no bugs whatsoever,” the Snyders’ business is most welcome in the borough.
Noting that Chris is also the fire chief for the Steel City Volunteer Fire Company in Lower Saucon, he drew a comparison between the teamwork involved in battling a blaze and the teamwork that successfully running a business involves.
“You can’t do it by yourself,” Heintzelman said. “You took a vested interest in Hellertown, and we are taking a vested interest in you.”
“We’re loving being part of Hellertown,” said Kendra Snyder, who said the business was her husband’s “dream.”
Chris Snyder praised the team of pest control technicians who work for him and said they have helped take the company “to the next level” and helped it receive recognition in national trade publications.
Quest Termite & Pest serves the Lehigh Valley and Bucks County and provides a variety of pest control services, including rodent control, termite control, bedbug extermination treatments, real estate termite inspections, moisture control and wildlife management.
A new service Quest is offering is for the spotted lanternfly that has invaded much of Pennsylvania over the last few years, Chris said.
According to the company’s website, it provides both emergency and same-day service by licensed, insured and screened pest control professionals who use “state-of-the-art materials and techniques when treating your property.” Free evaluations are available.
