Applicants must also have earned a high school diploma or GED, be Act 120 certified (upon conditional offer of employment) and meet all Municipal Police Officer’s Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) required background, physical and psychological standards as well as be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of a police officer.
The starting salary for the position is $74,692, with the possibility of additional overtime and an increased starting rate possible for applicants with prior full-time law enforcement experience. The department offers a desirable 12-hour steady day or night shift schedule with a shift differential.
