At the conclusion of the holiday weekend an Alberta clipper system could bring snow to start the work and schoolweek.
As of Sunday evening, the forecast is generally for light snowfall amounts to fall in the Saucon Valley area.
The National Weather Service forecast for the Lehigh Valley includes a 60 percent chance of snow on Tuesday, with accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Snow is likely Tuesday night, mainly before 8 p.m., with accumulation of less than an inch possible, according to the forecast.
Lehigh Valley Weather Authority’s first call for the storm puts the Lehigh Valley in an area that is currently forecast to receive 1 to 3 inches of snow.
“Timing looks to be early afternoon into mid evening Tuesday,” a Facebook post said Sunday. “However, we will cover more in depth specifics Monday.”
Weather NJ is predicting 1 to 2 inches in the Lehigh Valley in their first call for the clipper system, with 2 to 4 inches possible further north across the Poconos and northern New Jersey.
“We’re then still watching the Wednesday-Thursday signal for a possible (significant) coastal snow storm,” forecaster Jonathan Carr wrote in his update Sunday.
Area residents should continue to monitor local weather forecasts for further updates.
