A well-known member of local government and volunteer will be the honPriscilla deLeon FILEoree at a fundraiser dinner in support of the Saucon Valley Community Center Nov. 21 at The Meadows.

Lower Saucon Township councilwoman Priscilla deLeon will be toasted and roasted at the annual banquet, which benefits the Hellertown community center’s programs and services.

DeLeon, a native of the Slate Belt, is a graduate of Philadelphia General Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and spent 20 years working as a radiologic technologist in the Philadelphia area and the Lehigh Valley.

She has been a resident of the Steel City section of Lower Saucon since 1985, and a member of township council since 1988.

A proponent of historic preservation and environmental protection efforts, deLeon is a founding member and past president of the Saucon Valley Conservancy–a group that restored the Michael Heller Homestead on Friedensville Road.

“Priscilla loves living in the Saucon Valley and finds it very rewarding serving the residents and volunteering in the community,” her biography states. “Council represents the people, and Priscilla welcomes and encourages community involvement. She is always available to work with the residents and to offer solutions and provide guidance through a common sense approach.”

The dinner will begin at 6 p.m., and will include a silent auction from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

The Meadows is located at 1770 Meadows Road, Hellertown.

Tickets for the event are $35 each and can be purchased by calling the community center at 610-838-0722.
