Frederick Imlay Van Anden Jr., 95, of Hellertown, formerly of Forks Township, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at Weston Health Care Center, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of the late Eline W. (Wallick) Van Anden as well as the former husband of Janet L. (Coledanchise) Lynn of Punta Gorda, Fla. He was born in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 20, 1919 to the late Fred I. and Julia A. (Ketcham) Van Anden. He worked as a division manager for Sears Roebuck for 24 years, retiring in 1971, after which he tended bar at College Hill Tavern for many years. During WWII he served as assistant manager of the merchant ship supplier Gochenauer Marine Company. Frederick graduated in 1937 from Upper Darby High School and in 1941 from Penn State University. He was a member of College Hill Presbyterian Church, Easton, a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association, and a member of Varsity S Club and Delta Chi Fraternity.

Reider and her husband Len Bilous of Hellertown, John Van Anden of Bethlehem, Margaret and her husband Curtis Beam of Easton, Patricia Van Anden of Quakertown; grandchildren: Captain Peter F. Reider, U.S. Army, Phoebe and Lily List, Mikhail P. Bilous, Curtis, Thomas and Jennifer Beam; great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Elizabeth Beam; nieces: Dorothy Hotchkiss of Harrisburg, Barbara Bose of Sarasota, Fla., Libby DiGennaro of Albany, Calif., Melissa Sims of Blackwood, N.J., and Faith Cella of Broomall; nephews: Arthur Schofield of Paducah, Ky., Ray Richard of Florida, Dr. Howard Donohoe of Halifax, N.S., Frank Donohoe of Malvern, Steve Mullin of Philadelphia, Daniel Mullin of Exton. He was predeceased by sisters: Elizabeth Schofield and Dorothy Richard; grandson: Richard Beam.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Forks Cemetery, Stockertown.
