This Saturday, Nov. 29 is Small Business Saturday, and a number of independently-owned local businesses will celebrate it by offering special deals.

  • Saucon Valley Bikes, 824 Main St., Hellertown. DEAL: Receive a $20 gift card with the purchase of any bike.
  • Bella’s Ristorante, 639 Main St., Hellertown. DEAL: Dinner for 2 for $36.95 (includes 2 cups of soup, 1 antipasta, 2 entree choices from special menu, 2 mini cannoli, complimentary glass of wine). The dinner special will also be available Friday, Nov. 28.
  • Frey’s Better Foods, 1575 Main St., Hellertown.     Small Business Saturday was initally conceived by American Express as an alternative to Black Friday–the day after Thanksgiving–when many national big box retailers celebrate “going into the black” and the kickoff to the lucrative holiday shopping season with blowout sales.

    SBS is a little more low-key than Black Friday, but it’s a perfect opportunity to show Saucon Valley area businesses that you support them with your patronage.
