Package Stolen from in Front of Society Hill Home, Police Say

Est. Read Time: < 1 min

Lower Saucon Township Police are investigating the theft of a package from in front of a home on Mattis Street in the Society Hill development Wednesday.

In a news release, police said the package contained a pair of shorts that had been ordered online. It was delivered to the home at about 6 p.m.

When the resident of the home went to retrieve the package from the doorstep, “he noticed that it was gone,” police said.

In recent weeks there have been reports of package thefts in other parts of Pennsylvania, and authorities say this type of crime is more common during the holiday season, when more packages are delivered than at any other time of year.

Some tips for preventing the theft of packages can be found in the online article, “How to Protect Your Package Delivery From Theft.”

Anyone with information about the missing shorts is asked to contact Lower Saucon Township Police at 610-317-6110.
