School’s Holiday Ethnic Food Sale Supports Local Food Bank
NOTE: The sale has ended.
Red Door Early Learning CenterĀ at Lower Saucon UCC in Hellertown is holding a holiday ethnic food sale that will benefit the New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church food bank in Lower Saucon Township.
EightĀ different types of pierogies along with haluski, potato pancake batter and ravioli are available for purchase via the schoolās website.
The Eastern European food favorites are made āthe old-world wayā by T&L Pierogies in Hazleton, and shipped frozen and ready to cook.
Red Doorās Director of Operations Karol DiPasquale explained that āonce the orders are totaled, we will add 25 percent more product that will be delivered to the food bank. The more orders we receive, the more food we donate.ā
The donated food will be delivered to the pantry Dec. 19, and will help make the holidays a brighter time for many local families in need.
In an email sent to many Red Door families earlier this month, the school urged them to support the unique charitable campaign.
āWe hope you will consider participating, knowing that your purchase will also help those in our community who are struggling,ā it said.
