Eight different types of pierogies along with haluski, potato pancake batter and ravioli are available for purchase via the school’s website.

The Eastern European food favorites are made “the old-world way” by T&L Pierogies in Hazleton, and shipped frozen and ready to cook.

Red Door’s Director of Operations Karol DiPasquale explained that “once the orders are totaled, we will add 25 percent more product that will be delivered to the food bank. The more orders we receive, the more food we donate.”

The donated food will be delivered to the pantry Dec. 19, and will help make the holidays a brighter time for many local families in need.

In an email sent to many Red Door families earlier this month, the school urged them to support the unique charitable campaign.

“We hope you will consider participating, knowing that your purchase will also help those in our community who are struggling,” it said.
