Lower Saucon Township Police say a Palmer Township woman was charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly kicked an EMT from Dewey Ambulance and had to be restrained before being transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill on Nov. 8.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said the alleged incident began when Michelle Rea Bush, 29, of the first block of Fairfield Court, was stopped by an officer near Black River Road and Route 378 for failure to maintain a lane of travel.

Police said Bush “had a medical emergency while performing sobriety tests,” which prompted officers to call for an ambulance.

Bush was later determined to have a blood alcohol content of .19 percent, and has also been charged with DUI, police said.
