Lower Saucon Township are investigating a bizarre incident in which a deer was butchered and its carcass left in a trash receptacle at Polk Valley Park, according to a news release.

Police said Tuesday that “an unknown person lined the dumpster with a silver tarp and proceeded to butcher the deer. The deer carcass was then left behind.”

It was discovered Monday.

Police want to identify the person responsible for the illegal dumping and are asking anyone with information about this incident to call the department at 610-317-6110.
