Mailbox Struck, Damaged on Hawthorne Road; Black Mazda Sought

Lower Saucon Township Police say they’re investigating a hit-and-run accident in which a mailbox in the 1700 block of Hawthorne Road was struck and damaged by a vehicle.

In a news release issued Saturday, police said the mailbox sustained “extensive damage” when it was struck sometime between 1:45 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 23.

Police want to speak to the driver and passengers of a black Mazda “which several witnesses reported to be in the area of Hawthorne Road and Old Mill Road during the time of this incident,” the news release stated.

Anyone with information about the accident or the driver of the Mazda is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.
