Joy M. Sandt, 96, of Hellertown, Allentown (OBITUARY)

Joy M. Sandt, 96, of Allentown and Hellertown, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at Lehigh Center, Macungie. She was the wife of the late William J. Sandt (died in 1978). She was born in Lower Saucon Township on Oct. 19, 1918 to the late Eldon E. and Marie E. (Lorish) Kemmerer. She was a clerk and floor supervisor at the former Hess’s Department Store for 25 years. Joy was a member of Weisenberg Lutheran Church, New Tripoli.

SURVIVORS

Children: Rochelle K. Harris of Lehighton, Beverly J. Bast of Allentown, Lyndell I. Eddy of Fallston, Md., William J. Sandt of Hellertown; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by a daughter: Hope M. Sandt (died June 2, 2014).

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St. Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service for Joy and her daughter, Hope M. Sandt at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Woodland Cemetery, Upper Saucon Township.
