Borough Accepting Summer Employee Applications

Note: The following news releases about summer employment opportunities with the Borough of Hellertown were provided by borough manager Cathy Hartranft.

SUMMER/SEASONAL EMPLOYEES

Applications are now being accepted for 2015 summer seasonal employment with the Borough of Hellertown Sanitation and Park Departments, Pool and Refreshment Stand.

All applications should be submitted on borough-provided forms which can be obtained in person at Borough Hall, 685 Main St., Hellertown, during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or on the borough website at www.hellertownborough.org.

PA Child Protective Laws were recently updated and mandate that employees and volunteers who have direct contact with children because they provide care, supervision, guidance or control of children or have routine interaction with children obtain the following three clearances:

  • Report of criminal history from the PA State Police
  • Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services
  • Fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the PA State Police or its authorized agent (FBI).

Interested applicants will not need these clearances to apply. Clearances will be required prior to employment.

Applications must be returned to Hellertown Borough Hall at the above address no later than the close of business on Friday, April 17, 2015 in order to be considered. The borough is an equal opportunity employer.

LIFEGUARD/HEAD LIFEGUARD

The Borough of Hellertown will accept applications for lifeguard/head lifeguard positions for the 2015 Dimmick Pool swimming season. Minimum qualifications established for these positions require current certification in American Red Cross or YMCA Lifesaving and Lifeguarding and American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR Procedures. Training in other first aid procedures and previous lifeguard experience is preferred.

Applications must be returned to Borough Hall no later than the close of business on Friday, April 17, 2015, in order to be considered. The Borough is an equal opportunity employer.
