Edward Landis Judd, 96, Formerly of Hellertown (OBITUARY)

Edward Landis Judd, 96, of Luther Crest, S. Whitehall Twp., formerly of Allentown and Hellertown, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Charlotte (Wasnak) Hawk Judd of Allentown and the late Althea A. (Gorski) Judd, who died Nov. 6, 1993. Edward was born in Hellertown on Feb. 3, 1919 to the late Clayton and Annie (Landis) Judd. He was a 1937 graduate of Hellertown High School. Ed retired from the No. 8 Machine Shop after 30 years of service at the former Bethlehem Steel in 1980. Previously, for 13 years, he worked for his father at Judd’s Automobile Service, Hellertown. In his later years he owned and operated Judd’s Lawn Mower Service, Hellertown. Edward played trumpet in church orchestras and participated in the High School Band, playing trumpet, and sang on its chorus. He was a member of Dubbs Memorial UCC, Allentown, and the former Seibert EC Church, Allentown.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife; children: William D. (Donna L.) Judd of Raleigh, N.C., Cynthia A. (Rev. Carl E.) Siegfried of Center Valley; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. The Rev. Carl E. Siegfried will officiate the service.
