Katharine J. George, 83, of Hellertown, formerly of Hanover Township died Friday, May 15, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence E. George (died in 2014) and Lt. Leonard F. Parvel (died in 1959). Katharine was born in Allentown on Feb. 3, 1932 to the late William M. and Margaret R. (Smith) Bailey. She held many positions in her life, but her best accomplishment was being a loving and supportive mother and Nana. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Hanover Township, and a graduate of William Allen High School, Allentown.
SURVIVORS
Loving children: Katharine J. and her husband Dr. Jeffrey P. DeCrosta of Bethlehem, Brian L. and his wife Rita F. of Easton; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister: Doris Ruth Haftl.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 4 p.m. The interment will conclude services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2015 at Heidelberg Union Cemetery, Slatington.
