When Does the Hellertown Pool Open?

The Hellertown Pool traditionally opens on the Saturday after school ends in the Saucon Valley School District.

This year is no exception.

The pool will open for the 2015 season on Saturday, June 13, which is the day after Saucon Valley High School’s graduation.

The pool’s hours of operation are noon to 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Season pool passes are available for purchase at Hellertown Borough Hall, 685 Main St., Hellertown, during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.), and will also be sold on opening day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pool pass and daily rate information is posted on the borough’s website.

The dates for D.H. Productions’ popular Dip-N-Dance parties that are held at the pool each summer are posted on the borough’s online community calendar.

The first kid-friendly dance party will be held Thursday, June 25 at 1 p.m., and there’s already a Facebook event page for it.

Additional Dip-N-Dances are scheduled for these dates:

• Thursday, July 9 – 5 p.m.
• Thursday, July 23 – 1 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 6 – 5 p.m.

At borough council’s meeting Monday night, Hellertown public works director Tom Henshaw said his department is working on installing a new handicapped pool lift.

“We were laying it out today,” he said. “I think it’ll be fine.”

“The pool is now full, as of the weekend,” he added. “The water’s a little chilly but it’s ready to go. It’ll be ready for the 13th.”
