Note: The following is a contributed news release from the Hellertown Area Library.

The Hellertown Area Library (HAL) Board of Trustees has awarded a contract to CMG of Easton for work on interior improvements to the library facility on Constitution Avenue in Hellertown. The construction will allow for better utilization of the space in the building to accommodate their increase in patrons since the consolidation of library services between Lower Saucon Township and Hellertown Borough in 2014.

Improvements are planned for all three levels of the library and will provide a renovated computer lab; new circulation desks; an enlarged space for the children’s area; and study rooms and public meeting space on the lower level, in addition to new paint, carpeting and electrical work.

The library was awarded a Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund grant in 2015, which will be combined with the township capital contributions to provide funding for these improvements.

The construction is anticipated to begin in September and the library is looking for volunteers to help pack up and move books, DVDs and CDs to storage which they will have on site. They are also looking for help moving shelving and other furniture around and into storage.

Please contact the HAL Director Robin Rotherham at di******@he***************.org or (610) 838-8381 if you would like to contribute your time to this effort.
