‘Widespread Killing Freeze’ Possible Sunday Night, Weather Service Says

Est. Read Time: < 1 min

Any remaining flowers and plants left outside could be damaged or killed by a “widespread killing freeze” Sunday night, the National Weather Service said Friday in a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Lehigh Valley.

Sunday’s low temperature in Hellertown is forecast to be 29 degrees.

Frost is also likely Saturday night, when the temperature is expected to drop to 32 degrees, the NWS said.

On Sunday, when the Saucon Valley Spirit Parade is held in Hellertown, the high temperature is only expected to be 49 degrees–so parade-goers will need to dress for cold weather.
