A Bethlehem man who was accused over the summer of following a Giant Food Store worker into a restroom in an employee-only area of the Lower Saucon Township supermarket has again landed himself in legal hot water, according to police and records.
Mehdi Bavand Pour, 33, of the 1500 block of Crest Park Court, was arrested on a Felony 3 charge of criminal trespassing Monday after he allegedly entered the grocery store at 1880 Leithsville Road, from which he is banned, Northampton County court records say.
In late August, when he was employed at the Lower Saucon Giant, police said Pour followed a coworker who was talking to her boyfriend on a cell phone into a women’s restroom, and then began trying to push the door of a bathroom stall open after she opened it slightly to see who was standing outside the stall.
The woman and Pour were not acquainted prior to the incident, other than by virtue of being coworkers.
Pour ultimately pleaded guilty to a summary charge of harassment by following in a public place, according to court records.
Following his arrest Monday, Pour was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail, according to the records. A preliminary hearing on his latest charge is scheduled for Nov. 19.
According to the records, Pour also previously pleaded guilty to defiant trespassing because of a September incident in which he was accused of returning to the store after being told not to.
Giant has not responded to a prior request for general information about policies and procedures it has in place to help protect employees and customers from stalking-type behavior in its stores.
